LockIn Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026.
What we collect
- Your email and/or phone number, so you can sign in.
- A password only if you choose one (stored hashed by Supabase; we can never see it).
- The notes and files you upload, and the games built from them.
- How many games and AI questions you use each month (for plan limits).
- Payment status from Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Anonymous usage counts: we count, once per visit, steps like "opened the demo", "signed in" and "started a build". These counts carry no name, email, notes or account.
- Crash reports: if the app breaks, it sends the error message, the page and your browser type so we can fix it. These go to our hosting provider's logs, not our database.
- Messages you send through Help & feedback: the message, the email you choose to add, your browser type, and your account if you're signed in.
Who processes it
- Supabase (accounts and database)
- Anthropic (an AI that builds games and answers questions; per Anthropic's API terms, API inputs are not used to train models by default)
- Google Gemini, when it powers the AI features instead: prompts and the notes in them go to Google's Gemini API, and on Google's free API tier Google may use them to improve its products, per Google's terms
- The “Build it FREE with your own AI” option sends nothing from our side: you copy a prompt and paste it into an AI you choose yourself (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini…), so that conversation happens in your own account under that provider's terms, and we never see it
- Stripe (payments)
- Vercel (hosting and crash logs)
- Twilio, only if you sign in by phone (sends the text code)
What we never do
We don't sell your data or show ads based on it. Your notes and games stay private unless you send someone a share link yourself; anyone with that link can open a copy of that one game.
Your choices
Delete your account and everything tied to it anytime: Account → Delete my account + data. That includes your games, share links, usage records and feedback messages. For questions or a copy of your data, use Help & feedback in the app.
Students and schools
LockIn is a consumer tool you sign up for yourself. It is not provided by your school. If a school partners with us, a separate agreement covers FERPA.
Kids
LockIn isn't for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data.
LockIn is operated by LockIn Study LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company founded by Max Gereau (Articles of Organization filed with the Wisconsin DFI on October 18, 2026). Meet the founder · Back to LockIn
